alice stevenson

Now that I have admitted my guilty pleasure (see below), I wanted to show you a cool artist that design sponge featured recently: Alice Stevenson. I featured a couple pictures from her personal portfolio. I love the way she combines the silhouettes with nature and her use of color.

guilty pleasure

So I am going to be honest- I have a guilty pleasure- design sponge. Check it out here. I check this site almost daily and she is spot-on in the design world. Grace Bonney has become famous for this blog, and she does it well- I think you may agree with me. Let me know what you think.

fashion show february 17th

good news- a fashion show is going to be happening in eugene. I am fairly excited, seeing as some of my wares will be sold at the product booth and possibly the silent auction. This is being put on by some great ladies here in town: Deluxe and Ladydove.(also check out her blog for news). I am inspired greatly by these two ladies, and am glad to have an opportunity to get to know them better in helping with this event. I will post a copy of the poster, and you should tell your friends. I hope that it will be a tradition soon- 8 pm Saturday the 17th, $5, at the vet’s hall. be there- local handmade wares, great music, and a runway- what could be better for a publicity event?

wax and pigment

amy ruppel is one of my favorite local encaustic artists, located in Portland, Oregon. She uses the transparent medium of wax well, along with clean modern shapes. You can find her stuff at many shops in Portland, including the awesome Office, as well as at amyruppel.com
